KUCHING: More private sectors in the state are encouraged to obtain halal certification for their confinement centres.
Deputy Women, Early Childhood and Community Development Minister Datuk Rosey Yunus said obtaining halal certification ensures the safety of customers during their stay at the confinement centre.
She said this during the official opening ceremony of the Aisha Confinement Centre, Jalan Luis at Kempas Heights today (Mar 16).
“Therefore, I want to congratulate the centre for being among the first in Kuching to successfully acquire a halal certification.
“Also, I would like to express my gratitude to the centre because their efforts complement the Sarawak Government’s initiatives in assisting the needs of mothers,” she said.
Highlighting the importance of such centres, Rosey noted that they provide crucial support to mothers in modern times.
“The reason behind this occurrence is because husbands and some grandparents may still be working which limits their time in taking care of their grandchildren and their wives or daughters.
“As such, we are fortunate to have services from this centre to reduce their burden and most importantly, assist in the mother’s postnatal care and their newborns,” she stated.
In addition, she mentioned that a mother’s health is paramount after childbirth, stating that mothers require an extended period to fully recover, as their health directly impacts the well-being of the entire family.
“A healthy mother is required to keep the household afloat because a sick mother can affect the family as a whole.”
Meanwhile, the Aisha Confinement Centre started its operation in November last year. They recently obtained their halal certification from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM).
Among the services provided include around-the-clock care for mothers and newborns by professionals.
Furthermore, the service also includes five meals for postnatal mothers to fully recuperate and postnatal massage services.
Generally, a total of 17 rooms are provided with prices starting from RM8,000 up to RM12,000.
Among those present during the ceremony were the centre’s managing director Datuk Rodziah Morshidi, director Yek Chu Ting and manager Norasyikin Chee.
