KUCHING: Wushu once again contributed medals to the home team in the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma).

For the second day of the tournament, Mok Xiao Yuan and Carmen Chaw Jia Min both won bronze in the men’s and women’s taijiquan respectively.

Mok said as this is his last Sukma, he was happy to at least won a medal for Sarawak.

“I am glad that I didn’t make any mistake during my performance. What I displayed is actually the result of my training and preparation since the end of the 20th Sukma.

“Since I will be moving to the national team next, I hope that I will be able to make Sarawak prouder and deliver gold for the state and Malaysia,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chaw said she was happy that she bagged another medal for the team.

“Although it was not the medal I had hoped for, I am still satisfied with it.

“As this is my last event in this Sukma, I will now focus on training harder and give my all for the next Sukma,” she said.

For the record, the men’s taijiquan was won by Negeri Sembilan (gold) and Federal Territory (silver), and Sarawak (bronze) while the women’s taijiquan was won by Selangor (gold) and Federal Territory (silver).
