LAWAS: Villages in this division are getting the attention of Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan who has vowed to bring about positive changes to them.

Among these villages is Kampung Haji Bayan in Kuala Lawas where Awang Tengah yesterday officiated at a ground-breaking ceremony of its town hall.

Awang Tengah’s arrival was welcomed by the residents of Kampung Haji Bayan.

“I hope that with the completion of this town hall, the village development committee and grassroots leaders can make good use of this facility for programmes and meetings,” said Awang Tengah.

He also suggested that the town hall, which is expected to be ready next year, to be used to conduct tuition classes for students.

“Under the Northern Region Development Authority (NRDA), we will also replace old jetties with concrete ones.

“In addition, the NRDA projects will also include upgrading drainage and the construction of Anjung Usahawan that will benefit the people of Limbang and Lawas who are keen to venture into business,” he added.
