SARATOK: The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has approved over RM1 million in loan assistance to support the construction of a new longhouse, Rumah Panjang Bidah Tambi.
“I understand that more than RM1 million has been approved by the Sarawak Government through HDC under the longhouse loan assistance scheme to build Rumah Panjang Bidah Tambi,” Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri said at the groundbreaking ceremony for the longhouse.
The initiative is part of a broader effort by the state government to enable rural residents to build beautiful and comfortable homes.
“Apart from HDC, I, through the RTP allocation as Kalaka assemblyman, have allocated RM170,000 for site preparation this year,” he said.
Additionally, the Krian assemblyman Friday Belik had contributed RM80,000 under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) grant.
Mohamad praised that political stability and increasing incomes under the leadership of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, which enabled significant rural development.
“Indeed, the excellent performance of the GPS Government cannot be denied. Here and there, many development projects are underway,” he added.
Political Secretary to the Premier, Brian Yang, Organising Committee Advisor Major (B) Untai Dana, Pemanca Thomas Lamit, and Tr Bidah Tambi were also present.
