MIRI: Multi-ministry discussions will be held with technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institutions to coordinate courses to boost TVET students’ job prospects, said Minister of Youth and Sports Hannah Yeoh.
At the same time, the smart partnership between TVET and industries will be further expanded to address the demand-supply mismatch.
“This is part of the federal government’s efforts to close the gap of employability mismatch in the TVET courses,” she told local media, here, Saturday after attending the National Skills Institute for Youths (IKBN) Miri’s 15th convocation.
A total 117 students recieved certificates after completing courses in Automotive Technology (95 students), Hospitality Technology (62) and Mechanical Technology (20).
Yeoh said programmes that are designed and offered at TVET are aimed to equip students with hands-on job training which will provide knowledge and skills employment.
Also present was the Youth and Sports Ministry secretary-general Dr Nagulendran Kangayatkarasu.
