SIMUNJAN: Members of the Darul Hijrah Mosque here has been encouraged to play an important part in assisting the Simunjan Police District Headquarters (IPD) in crime prevention.

Simunjan district police chief DSP Merbin Lisa along with his police personnel yesterday paid a courtesy visit to the mosque’s Imam 1 Aban Napiri after Friday prayers.

During the visit, he briefed the mosque’s congregation and committee members on current issues and urged them to play an important role as eyes and ears of the police for any incidents related to crime, drugs and others, as this is important to ensure that the safety and security are always maintained.

Apart from the visit, Muslim personnel of Simunjan IPD also attended the Friday prayers which was headed by Aban along with other pilgrims.

Merbin expressed his gratitude to the mosque’s willingness to receive the Simunjan IPD’s courtesy visit. A donation from Simunjan IPD was then presented to Aban on behalf of the mosque.
