KUCHING: Geraldine Tay Huang Siew, the mother of Archbishop Simon Poh, has passed away this morning (Dec 23), the Chancellor’s Office of the Catholic Archdiocese of Kuching announced.
Tay peacefully departed at 5.12am at the Sarawak General Hospital.
In a statement, Chancellor Patrick Heng conveyed condolences on behalf of the clergy, religious communities, seminarians, staff, and the entire faithful community of the Archdiocese of Kuching to Poh and his family.
“May her soul rest in peace,” he said.
Details about the funeral arrangements and commemoration will be communicated by the Chancellor’s Office at a later time.
