SIBU: A 43-year-old mother and her seven-year-old son were seriously injured in an accident.

The motorcycle they were riding was reportedly involved in a crash with a four-wheel drive vehicle at Jalan Salim, here on Saturday (Sept 26).

As a result of the collision, the mother suffered a broken left leg while her son suffered a broken left thigh and a wound on the back of his palm.

Both victims were sent to Sibu Hospital and were reported to be in stable condition.

Sibu Civil Defence Force (APM) team in a statement, said they received an emergency call at 8.12 am about the crash and immediately deployed a four-man team to the scene.

“We provide first aid and initial treatment to the two victims before the paramedics arrived from the hospital,” the statement said.
