KUALA LUMPUR: Shell Advance, the leading motorcycle engine oil brand in Malaysia, will be embarking on a 4-month long nationwide roadshow across Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak from July 7 till October 29, 2017 to reach out to passionate bikers with plenty of fun and goodies, including tickets to the 2017 Shell Malaysia MotoGP.
The roadshow, which marks the kick-off of Shell Advance’s new ‘Outride Anything’ brand campaign, will be held at various popular bikers’ hangouts such as bike workshops, shopping malls and hypermarkets.
Visitors to the roadshow can strike dramatic poses on a superbike in the special `elbow down’ challenge and upload the photographs on social media to qualify for a spin at the Shell Advance ‘wheel of fortune’ to win instant prizes.
Those who purchase any Shell Advance product during the roadshow are also entitled to participate in a bike simulator time trial.
The top ten participants with the fastest times at every roadshow location will win two tickets to the 2017 Shell Malaysia MotoGP.
In addition, those who purchase any Shell Advance Ultra, AX 7 and AX 5 products, shall be eligible to participate in the roadshow contest where five customised Shark helmets worth RM1250 each will be up for grabs.
This year’s Shell Advance nationwide roadshow has also been designed to upgrade the skills of motorcycle mechanics and incentivise those with the desire and commitment to improve themselves.
At selected locations, a professional trainer will be conducting ‘live’ training sessions to help mechanics from Shell Advance’s network of partner workshops to upgrade their knowledge and expertise.
The training is part of the exclusive Shell Advance Masterclass series that guide mechanics on how to properly maintain nine key components of a motorcycle.
Registered mechanics who successfully complete the entire eight modules by September 30, 2017 will be incentivised with two tickets to the 2017 Shell Malaysia MotoGP and certification from Shell Malaysia.
According to Shell Lubricants Marketing Manager – Malaysia and Singapore, Alex Lim, the company planned to help upgrade the skills of almost 2,400 mechanics, many of whom were self-taught or learned on the job.
“As the lubricant market and technology leader, we at Shell believe that our investment in this programme would benefit the entire value chain as it creates a pool of professionally trained and certified mechanics.
Bikers will enjoy better service, workshop owners can grow their business through better customer satisfaction and the mechanics themselves can look forward to more rewarding careers,” he said.
