Motorcycles up for grabs at Kuching food fest

KUCHING: Visitors will have the chance to win three motorcycles in a lucky draw event at the Kuching Food Festival 2022.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said, in order to participate in the lucky draw, the people need to register at https://kuchingfestivals.com/.

Once registered, a QR code will be provided and visitors will have to scan the code every time they enter the festival’s premises.

“The Kuching Food Festival this time offers three motorcycles as prizes through a lucky draw event for visitors.

“The main prize is a Wmoto Extreme 1501 Std motorcycle worth RM11,600 while the second prize is a Wmoto ES125i (RM5,650) and the third prize is a Wmoto WM110 (RM4,820). The prize is sponsored by Tay Motors,” he said.

Wee said this at a press conference after handing over a replica of the cheque at the MBKS, today.

Meanwhile, Magnum ENE (East Malaysia) Sdn Bhd donated RM40,000 for the implementation of the Kuching Food Festival 2022 this time and a replica cheque was handed over by its Regional Operations Manager Liew Kee Chuan to the mayor.

In addition, Wee informed that there will be 323 food and drink stalls that will offer international food and others including gastronomy stalls.

“There are eight associations that will participate in this festival, namely Kuching Hainan Association, Kwong Wai Siew Association, Teochew Association, Sarawak Chawan Association, Hin Ann Association, Foochow Kuching Association, Hokkien Association and the Sarawak Hakka Community Association in promoting Chinese delicacies.

“The ‘Kuching Festival Trade Fair’ has 90 stalls or entrepreneurs and is located in the MBKS Community Hall,” he added.

He said the stalls will showcase a wide range of products, machines, health products, telecommunication equipment, furniture, high-quality home products, clothes, accessories including a fun mini-exhibition for children and much more.

Wee also called on the public to come for the opening ceremony of the festival on Aug 2 (Tuesday), at 8pm at the MBKS Theatre.

The opening will be officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Wee said that there will also be a fireworks show at about 9pm to mark the official opening of the festival, with various entertainment programmes for people to have fun with their families.
