SERIAN: A motorcyclist died from severe injuries after he rear-ended a rigid lorry along KM80, Jalan Kuching-Sri Aman on Monday (Apr 17).
Serian police chief DSP Aswandy Anis in a statement, said the accident happened around 10.20 pm when the victim was riding his motorcycle alone from Serian to Balai Ringin.
Investigations found that the lorry driven by a 25-year-old man was travelling to Sibu, when the victim rear-ended the lorry.
“As a result, the motorcyclist identified as Zaidel Zulkani, 24, sustained severe head injuries.
“He was later pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics,” the local police chief said in the statement.
The victim’s body was taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem.
Aswandy said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
