KUCHING: A security personnel was killed after his motorcycle collided with a trailer lorry at Jalan Kwong Lee Bank here on Friday.
Kuching Deputy Police Chief Supt Merbin Lisa, in a statement on Saturday, said the accident occurred at around 12.49 pm.
“The accident is believed to have occurred when the lorry driver was turning left into a junction and collided with the victim’s motorbike, which was attempting to overtake from the lorry’s left side.
“As a result, the victim’s motorcycle was dragged by the lorry,” he added.
The victim, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at 1.30 pm.
“The lorry driver has been detained to assist in the investigation, and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,” he added.
