SRI AMAN: A man was killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and a four-wheel drive (4WD) at KM72, Sri Aman-Kuching Road on Sunday (Feb 14).
The accident occurred around 7.30pm when both the motorcycle and 4WD were travelling in opposite directions.
State Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the motorcyclist, identified as Samson Tolan, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Investigations revealed that the victim, who was travelling from Kuching, was believed to have lost control of his bike and collided with the 4WD on the opposite lane.
“The deceased was taken to Sri Aman Hospital for further action. Meanwhile, the 56-year-old driver of the 4WD escaped unharmed,” Alexson said.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
