KOTA SAMARAHAN: A motorcyclist died on the spot after he crashed into a plastic road barrier and landed on the road along KM11, Jalan Datuk Mohd Musa here on Wednesday (May 25).

Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim had been identified as Michael Demong, 43, from Rh Kiling Buyong Bangat, Betong.

He added that the victim was on his way to Kota Sentosa around 4.33pm after visiting his friend at Taman Samarindah here.

“He is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle and hit the plastic road barriers and crashed.

“The impact caused the victim to suffer facial and head injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers.”

The victim’s body was then sent to the Sarawak General Hospital Forensics Department.

Further investigation into the case is still ongoing under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
