MUKAH: A man died on the spot from serious head injuries after he was flung out of his vehicle in an accident on Sunday.

Mukah District police chief DSP Jimmy Panyau said in the 7.20pm accident, Tawisili Munang, 40, from Rumah Munang, Sungai Mateding near here was heading to Mukah town.

He was believed to have lost control of his vehicle at KM22, Jalan Mukah-Selangau.

“As a result, the vehicle skidded to the left side of the road and plunged into a drain,” said Jimmy via WhatsApp.

Medical personnel from Mukah Hospital who arrived at the scene confirmed that the victim had died. His body was then sent to Mukah Hospital for a post-mortem.

Jimmy added that the case is being investigated under Section 41 Road Transport Act, 1987.
