KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Borneo Creative Content Incubator Centre (BCCIC).
Unimas vice-chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Mohamad Kadim Suadi said the collaboration was a win-win situation for both parties.
He disclosed that the collaboration would benefit students, graduates and alumni from the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts as well as the university.
“BCCIC will provide talent development, coaching and training programmes while Unimas will provide participants consisting of our students and alumni for creative content production.
“The short-term and long-term positive impacts of this collaboration are in line with the university’s aspiration to produce graduates who excel in academics and have the ability to face the challenges as well as meet the demands of the industry.”
He said this in his welcoming address during the signing ceremony that took place at the university’s Staff Lounge on Tuesday (April 19).
At the same time, he noted that the collaboration was in line with the state government’s efforts, especially under the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts, for local talents to generate quality works and display their creative content.
During the signing ceremony, Unimas was represented by Prof Kadim, and Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts dean Associate Professor Dr Musdi Shanat while BCCI was represented by programme coordinator Azmira Azna Kamarulzaman and assistant programme coordinator Noorsaielin Saililah.
