MoU preps students for digital era of accounting

SIBU: Methodist Pilley Institute (MPI) and QnE Optimum Sdn Bhd, a leading provider of cloud-based accounting systems, have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to seal their partnership.

It is a significant milestone to enhance hands-on learning experience for accounting students and supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) here.

Speaking at the MoU’s signing ceremony, MPI’s CEO cum Principal, Hii King Kai said the collaboration between MPI and QnE underscores a commitment to applied learning and job readiness, aligning with the evolving landscape of digital accounting.

Through this partnership, he stressed that MPI students will gain access to the QnE platform, allowing them to engage in real-world accounting tasks for local MSMEs.

This practical experience, he noted, not only enhances their academic journey but also equips them with the skills necessary for the digital era of accounting.

“With the future of accounting leaning towards digitalisation, it is imperative that our students are well-prepared for the industry.

“In line with MPI’s commitment, this collaboration with QnE ensures that our graduates are equipped with the latest tools and knowledge to excel in their careers.

“QnE’s cloud-based accounting system, renowned for its user-friendly interface and comprehensive features, will be integrated into MPI’s curriculum. 

“This integration will enable students to navigate e-invoicing processes seamlessly, in line with Malaysia’s upcoming policy changes,” he said.

Meanwhile, CEO of QnE Optimum Sdn Bhd, Sam Mun Loong stated that QnE recognises the challlenges MSMEs face in transitioning to digital processes.

Through this collaboration, he pointed out QnE aims to bridge the gap by offering expertise and resources such as QnE Academy and online platform to facilitate a smooth transition.

Among those present to witness at the MoU signing were Cloud Solutions, E-Invoicing Speclialist from QnE Optimum Sdn Bhd Shirley Choong Shiau Pei, QnE Dealer from Powerel Sdn Bhd Emily Loi, QnE Dealer from QnE Software Enterprise Tang Ping Seng, MPI’s Director of Adminstration Ting Su Ding and MPI lecturer Wong Hie Fung.
