KUCHING: The Foreign Ministry’s Sarawak Regional Office is looking to host more programmes in the state.

Fenny Nuli who is the office’s director said Sarawak will be a host for one of ASEAN’s important meetings next year.

“Moreover, we also want to organise foreign diplomats’ courtesy visits to Sarawak and various plans have been discussed.

“These matters will be further refined together with officials in the state government,” she said.

She said this when speaking to reporters after a courtesy visit to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia on Wednesday.

During the visit, Fenny discussed with Abang Johari on the programmes and plans made by the Sarawak Regional Office.

She said the visit was her first in the capacity as the office director and to obtain approval from the Premier for the programmes.

She also suggested that the regional office would be more active during her tenure in line with the development and achievements of the Sarawak government.
