KUALA LUMPUR: International College of Management and Sports (ICMS) and on-demand delivery platform Lalamove have joined forces to empower students to sign up as driver partners to enable them to earn an income while pursuing their studies.
ICMS Education Group and Lalamove said in a statement today that the collaboration is aimed at empowering students and driver partners alike to capitalise on the strengths of both organisations, foster mutual growth and community support.
ICMS managing director Datuk Nathan Mahalingam said the partnership signed on Oct 17 was a “win-win situation for our students, who can now explore flexible earning opportunities while pursuing their education.”
Under the ‘Ber-Lala Bersama ICMS’ initiative, ICMS students who are pursuing a Diploma in Business Administration will be entitled to a complimentary Modernas Kriss motorcycle, the statement said.
To qualify, students must sign up as driver partners on the Lalamove platform. The offer extends to both existing driver partners and new ICMS students who successfully register as Lalamove driver partners, the statement said.
Additionally, Lalamove driver partners can benefit from free short-term courses provided by ICMS. These courses, facilitated by ICMS’s experienced trainers, cover a wide array of knowledge and skills, including customer service, digital marketing, IT fundamentals, and more, said Nathan.
Participants will receive a certificate upon completing the course, enhancing their skills and employability. Each course caters to Lalamove driver partners between 18 and 40 years old with PMR/PT3 or SPM education qualifications and below.
Representatives from ICMS and Lalamove expressed their enthusiasm for the collaboration, emphasising their shared commitment to create value for students and driver partners, which is a first in Malaysia.
Lalamove Malaysia managing director Jane Teh said the partnership would empower individuals and help the delivery platform to connect with a diverse pool of talented individuals and assist them financially in their quest to obtain a higher educational qualification. — BERNAMA
