KANOWIT: Efforts are underway to boost basic facilities in Kanowit for the area’s development and progress.

National Unity Minister Datuk Seri Aaron Ago Dagang has pledged to improve basic amenities and establish the Mid-Rajang Regional Development Agency (MiRRDA) to uplift household incomes.

“I also assure the enhancement of basic facilities in Kanowit, as there are two main projects already completed in the Kanowit District, namely the Kanowit River Bank Project and the Ngemah River Bridge Project.

“The establishment of MiRRDA aims to strategically reduce poverty and enhance household income in the involved areas,”,” he said during the ‘Santai Bersama Menteri Perpaduan Malaysia’ programme at Datuk Aaron Hall, Bawan, on Saturday (Mar 23).

Meanwhile, Ngemah assemblyman Anyi Jana, who was present, highlighted the vital role association members can play in fostering local development.

Additionally, Anyi clarified the appointment policy for headmen and community chiefs (KMKK), reassuring that any queries on the matter can be directed to the Kanowit District Office.
