KOTA SAMARAHAN: Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKWD) plans to increase the tahfiz classes in Tabika KEMAS throughout Sarawak particularly in Kota Samarahan.
Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah said this was because children ages four to six are among the easiest to be taught on memorising the Quran.
“That is why exposure is very important towards these children, because in order to create a better society, one of the crucial principles that need to be considered and taught on is religion.
“And I would like to tell you, we are planning to increase the tahfiz class further,” she said.
She said this in her speech during the Muara Tuang Tabika KEMAS appreciation day at INFRA Sarawak auditorium here on Friday.
“At the same time, children who are attended the tahfiz class in the morning will also attend a much more serious Quran recitation in the afternoon.
“For instance, when I visited Tabika Tahfiz in Terengganu, Alhamdullilah, I have seen the children able to recite the Quran very well,” she added.
In the meantime, Rubiah then said that the module Tabika KEMAS will continue to be upgraded from time to time.
She said this was among the initiatives proposed to introduce STREAM education (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) in Tabika KEMAS, which aligns with the nation’s education direction to foster interest in the fields of science and technology.
“The teachers and staff are often being trained and exposed towards the newest thing on the module.
“This is because we want to ensure the Tabika KEMAS module, especially the rural community is of the highest quality” she added.
Also present during the ceremony were KEMAS Sarawak director Anisah Saidin and other distinguished guests.
