SARATOK: Saratok MP Ali Biju through the Saratok Service Centre has handed over food baskets to residents of Rumah Sidah in Sungai Brangan which is currently undergoing quarantine for 14 days effective Feb 7 following a Covid-19 positive case that was detected from the longhouse.

Saratok District Health director Dr Syafiq Zulkiflee said that a total of 58 longhouse residents had their swab tests taken, while the second swab test will be taken on the tenth day on Feb 17.

A security control post consisting personnel from the police, Civil Defence Force, and Ministry of Health was also set up on Feb 7 at the entrance leading to the longhouse to restrict the residents’ movements.

Ali urged the residents and nearby longhouses to comply with the instructions by the authorities and abide strictly to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) to curb the spread of Covid-19.

In another development, the Saratok Service Centre also distributed food baskets and essential items to those placed at the quarantine centre in Victoria Inn.
