SERIAN: The agency which is supposed to implement the road project linking Kampung Rituh Labuan and Kampung Rituh Mawang here has been reprimanded for not sticking to the plan.
Nevertheless, Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin, who admonished the implementing agency, assured that the two villages will be connected with the scheduled implementation of the project this year.
Willie said the federal-government approved project had been implemented but unfortunately, the implementing agency did not follow the initial route.
“”The road connecting the two villages should have been implemented … I have reprimanded them (implementing agency).
“The federal government has approved the project which needs to be implemented this year,” he said in his speech at the Community Engagement Programme organisd by the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) in Kampung Rituh Labuan, recently.
In addition to the road project, Willie said the sanitary landfill for Kampung Rituh Labuan has also been approved for the benefit of the villagers.
Also present were Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, UKAS director Samuel Simon, Serian Resident Selamat Jati Yanjah, representative of the Siburan District Officer George Harison Rojes, Serian District Officer Lim Hock Meng, political secretary to the Premier Damen Rejek and Kampung Rituh Labuan village chief Suwen Gadum.
