BAU: Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin has pledged to bring more development to Serembu constituency by working closely with its assemblyman Miro Simuh.
“We promise to bring more development and provide the best services to the community.
“We will also support the community in terms of welfare, socio-economic development and local community development,” he said.
Willie was speaking at the Ziarah UKAS Ngabang Gawai programme held at the Serembu Community and Cultural Centre in Kampung Peninjau Lama yesterday (June 25).
He said infrastructure development such as the community is now equipped with air conditioning which would not have been possible without Miro’s efforts to bring more development to the area.
“For that reason, I urge the community to appreciate and support these efforts,” he said.
He also said Sarawakians need to be prepared for new economic initiatives and renewable energy, including algae production, which can enhance the state’s income.
“Furthermore, we see the potential for expanding the hydrogen industry, so we must not underestimate it.
“As Indonesia will relocate it capital city from Jakarta to Nusantara, we must be prepared
because indirectly we will also experience the spill over effects.
“This is something that should be supported under the leadership of our Premier, who has a clear vision for us, the people of Sarawak,” he said.
Also present were UKAS director Samuel Simon, representative of Serembu assemblyman Prem Notes, Bau district assistant administrative officer Paul Kenny, Bau district Bidayuh community leader Pemanca Robert Tom Juin and Serembu Bau Native Association (PASB) advisor Datuk Peter Nyomek.
