The dual diploma programme in partnership with ACCA signifies MPI’s Diploma in Accounting and Diploma in Taxation is of an international standard, meeting the requirements of ACCA, an international recognised qualification.
It also provides MPI students an advantage by nurturing accounting students towards a professional qualification as early as during their diploma studies.
With a dual accounting diploma, ACCA has given MPI students an avenue to be globally competitive.
Those who hold ACCA’s Diploma in Accounting and Business and MPI’s Diploma in Accounting or Taxation are exempted from taking the first three papers of ACCA’s Foundation level professional certification..
The journey to ACCA qualification can then be completed in just another two years if students can successfully pass another six applied skills and four professional papers.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hii said with the signing, it will strengthen their ties. and also provide added value to students.
He said those pursuing a diploma in Accounting or diploma in Taxation at MPI would now be able to experience a fast-track route of obtaining the ACCA’s professional diploma in Accounting and Business (DIAB).
“Today, we are happy to celebrate this breakthrough of two diplomas in one programme certification and do it in two years. Simply, you pay one fee and get two diplomas,” he said.
“I am grateful that ACCA recognises the quality of our Diploma programme and grants exemptions to our Diploma graduates for the Applied Knowledge exams of the ACCA Qualification so that students can enter directly into the Applied Skill exams, or Level 2 in ACCA qualification,” he added.
