KUCHING: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) held a two-day team-building programme aimed at fostering stronger teamwork and collaboration among its 140 staff members recently.
The programme, organised entirely by the council, was facilitated by Municipal secretary, Gustian Durani, who emphasised the importance of staff development and personal growth.
“When we focus on building our people, we create a more dynamic and efficient workplace,” he said, highlighting that teamwork is key to achieving better results and strengthening the organisation as a whole.
The event featured a series of interactive group activities, discussions, and motivational talks, designed to improve problem-solving skills and promote communication among staff from various divisions. The activities encouraged participants to work together towards common goals and build trust within the team.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many praising the sessions for helping them connect and collaborate more effectively.
The council believes that these skills will translate into a more cohesive working environment, benefitting both staff members and the wider community they serve.
MPKS expressed gratitude to the Sarawak Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government for their support in making the programme a success. The initiative reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to staff development and delivering quality services to the public.
