SIBU: The Health Department is appreciative of the Malaysia Red Crescent (MRC) Sibu chapter for having held a blood donation campaign during the movement control order (MCO) to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Blood from caring donors received during the campaign, running from April 4 to June 21, was for Sibu Hospital’s blood bank.

A medical officer of Sibu Hospital Dr Wong Hui Jiin handed over a certificate of appreciation to the chairman of MRC Sibu Chapter Penghulu Chua Hiong Kee at the latter’s premises here recently.

Chua said his chapter had long co-partnered Sibu blood bank in organising blood donation campaigns.

He encouraged associations and other non-governmental organisations to organise blood donation drives at the premises of MRC Sibu chapter.

From now onwards, he said, souvenirs of appreciation would be given to these bodies if they participated in its blood donation campaigns or drives.
