KAPIT: The Malaysian Red Crescent Kapit Chapter (MRC Kapit) held its committee meeting on Monday evening
at the conference room of Kapit Red Crescent Headquarters along Jalan Penghulu Nyanggau here.
Chairing the committee meeting, MRC Kapit chairman Dr Sia tih Kong revealed that the chapter has proposed to organise a ‘First Aider and Safety Course’ for electricians and workers of Song Logging Berhad to be held in early September.
He also disclosed that MRC members would attend the annual ‘Voluntary Recognition Night’ hosted by Malaysian Red Crescent Sibu Chapter at RH Hotel on Saturday evening on August 17.
Dr Sia appealed to the members to be prepared to face any untoward mishaps such as house fires.
He said as volunteers, “We must be ready to assist those in time of need”.
Present at the meeting were secretary David Chuo, assistant secretary Sereni Sli, treasurer Ling Thian Ing, First Aid instructor Ayong Adam, Nursing Superintendent Evelyn Biju, quarters master Ting Bee Eng, public officer James Ling, Jeremy Wong and member Stanley Ling Bee Chong.
