KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent Society (MRCS) Kuching District is targeting at least RM40,000 in flag sale in conjunction with its month-long fundraising campaign from March 13 to April 13.
Its vice-chairman Titus Chuo urged the public to be generous towards the society in view that their allocation for this year’s activities is still inadequate.
MRCS sent a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Abang Openg at his office yesterday morning.
Among the delegation was MRCS Kuching District chairman, Datuk Dr Abang Abdul Rauf Abang Zain and vice-chairman Dr Chou Chii Ming.
During the visit, Abang Johari was the first to make a personal donation to the fund.
After the courtesy visit, Titus informed the media that MRCS’s fundraising activity during the month-long campaign will mainly centre on the school level as well as certain public places.
He stressed that the funds collected would be used to finance the society’s activities, including community service and training of new members.
