LINGGA: Five non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the Lingga constituency have received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants totaling RM43,000 from the state  government.

Lingga assemblywomen, Dayang Noorazah Awang Sohor revealed that RM20,000 was allocated to the Lingga Zone Headmasters Council (MGB).

“Meanwhile, the Sri Aman Agricultural Cooperative received RM10,000 contribution, The Saint Barnabas Church and Saint Andrew’s Church were given RM5,000 respectively.

“Additionally, the Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) of SK Gran also get RM3,000,” she said at the Ngiling Bidai ceremony held at the Nyangkai Community Hall, Stumbin, yesterday.

Noorazah encouraged the NGOs to organise useful programmes adding that it could further strengthen cooperation, mutual respect and educate the communities.

Among those present at the ceremony were representatives from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Sri Aman branch, Social Welfare officer of the Sri Aman Division Mordiah Syed Ali, officers from the Drainage and Irrigation Department Sri Aman Division Azizi Dahlan, and Sri Aman District officer Hamizan Yahya.
