KUCHING: The construction project of the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Bintulu is currently in progress and is almost 90 per cent complete.
Federal Deputy Minister of Rural Development Datuk Hasbi Habibollah disclosed that the construction of MRSM Bintulu had also received sponsorship from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) and is expected to be completed next year.
“In Sarawak, there are currently three MRSMs, namely in Mukah, Betong and Kuching. Insya-Allah, there will be two more MRSMs built; one in Lawas and Bintulu respectively.
“MRSM Bintulu’s construction is currently progressing well and is expected to complete next year. It is almost ready, I am sure 90 per cent is ready while the one in Lawas is still in the procurement process,” he told a press conference after the IPMA 2022 Carnival walkabout session at Plaza Merdeka, today.
In another development, when answering a reporter’s question on the Guidelines on Public Expenditure Savings issued by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) recently, he said he would look into the matter first.
According to Hasbi, he personally has not seen (read) the Guidelines on Public Expenditure Savings and has refused to comment on the matter so far.
“I cannot comment, because I myself have not read the newly issued guidelines.
“Therefore, we will read and look at this matter at the ministry level, how the effect (on staff) and so on,” said the Limbang Member of Parliament.
