LUNDU: A junior team MSN B emerged champions when they defeated junior team MSN A in the final of the Women Youth Sepak Takraw Championship for the Sapar Tujuh Club (STC) Cup 2017 held at the Multipurpose Arena Kampung Keranji Serayan, Lundu, here, last weekend.
Junior team MSN B had to struggle to win the deciding set 21-19, 11-21 and 24-22.
The team comprising Catherine Minah Langgan, Adeline Le Nari, Sharifah Fifi Nurdyana and Magdeline (reserved player) took bring the STC Cup 2017 together with the cash prize.
MSN A which consist of Priscella Baby Kueh, Nur Asmida Rambli, Suziana Mohtar and Nurariff Shafiqah Openg (reserved player) also won cash prize for being runners up. POEA and ADAI Doley teams were joint third toreceive a cash prize.
According to tournament organiser, Frankie Mija the tournament is the organiser’s ongoing initiative to produce new talents in the sepak takraw at the grassroots level and strengthen relationships through sports.
He hoped Sapar Tujuh Club (STC) Lundu will continue to help develop sepak takraw and produce new talents here to be brought up to a higher level.
