SIBU: Malaysia-China relations are expected to improve gratly under the leadership of Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
In his Facebook post today, the Prime Minister’s Special Envoy to the People’s Republic of China cum chairman of Malaysia-China Business Council (MCBC), Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, said Malaysians also hoped for more trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
“At the same time, bilateral cooperation and the implementation of joint venture projects should be accelerated so that all sectors including the tourism sector can benefit.
“And create an environment that is a more conducive to investment and greater support for to Chinese companies and businesses at the government and community levels,” he said.
Tiong pointed out that diplomatic relation between Malaysia and China that was sealed on May 31, 1974, is very meaningful for the people of both countries.
“Despite different cultures, we understand each other … different languages but interconnected and we have the same goals for mutual benefit.
“This friendship is the best evidence and picture of the progress of human civilisation,” he said.
Tiong also stressed that both countries remain supportive of each other during both global health and economic crisis.
“The two countries can be considered ‘close brothers’ who have worked hard together to achieve prosperity.
“We believe that the friendship between Malaysia and China in the future is like ‘Air Dicincang Tidak Akan Putus’.
“Let us work together, continue to drive the ‘One Belt One Road’ cooperation initiative and the ‘Silk Road’ spirit, as well as build an open cooperation platform, to create efforts for the development of both countries!” he said.
