MUKAH: A recitation of the Yassin and Tahlil and prayer ceremony was held in conjunction with the transfer and retirement of police personnel at a surau here on Thursday.
Mukah District Police Headquarters (IPD) Surau Darul Husna deputy chairman Sgt Maj Ajahar Bakar said three senior officers including the surau chairman ASP Mohamad Haslee Sapiee and three others were on transfer, while another three had retired or would be retiring.
“The ceremony is in appreciation of their contribution while serving at Mukah IPD,” he said.
He added the recitation of Yassin and Tahlil and prayer ceremony was also held last night as usual.
According to him, it was aimed at enhancing religious knowledge and fostering closer rapport between Mukah IPD and locals.
He said the ceremony, which was led by Ustaz Musa Basri, progressed smoothly and was in compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Mukah istrict police chief DSP Mohamad Rizal Alias and other senior officers were also present.
