MUKAH: Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib attended a Chinese New Year (CNY) gathering at Kampung Penakub Bazaar here on Wednesday.
The event, organised by Kampung Penakub Bazaar Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), was held at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Ek Hua hall.
Hanifah in her brief speech hoped that the Chinese community and other communities in the area would always preserve racial unity and the spirit of cooperation.
Organising chairman Kapitan Kueh Bing Chuan thanked Hanifah for her presence.
Penghulu Lee Liong Ing, administrative officer from Mukah Resident Office Nolin Gendang and other community leaders also attended the event.
