MUKAH: PolyCC stands as the country’s largest contributor of technical workforce, making up 40 per cent of the total, according to Mukah Polytechnic (PMU) director Hisamudin Mohd Tamim.

“Under the theme ‘PolyCC Pemacu Negara Madani’, PMU strives to become more independent, future-proof, and highly competitive.

“For your information, PolyCC has a strength of 36 polytechnics, 105 community colleges, 10,1211 staff and 98,045 students nationwide.”

Hisamudin shared this during the PMU Monthly Assembly Number 6 of 2023 at the PMU Main Lecture Hall, emphasising the importance of sacrifice in their work.

As PMU staff, he highlighted the significance of a willingness to sacrifice and the mutual understanding that such sacrifices in duties and responsibilities benefitted others.

He encouraged the staff to view sacrifice as an opportunity to demonstrate greater love, sincerity, and dedication, working together as a team.

“Perhaps in some situations, we need to work overtime in order to complete important tasks or provide support to colleagues who need it.

“But we need to remember that this sacrifice is not without benefit because it is a sign of loyalty to the organisation and the community,” he said.

He expressed confidence in the achievements of PolyCC, surpassing a marketability rate of 90 per cent for three consecutive years, attributing this success to the collective sacrifices made by each individual.

Looking ahead, Hisamudin discussed the Transformation of PolyCC 2023-2027, focusing on the Vocational Technical Education and Training (TVET) sector and the tasks that needed support to achieve future success.

He reminded the staff that sacrifice formed an essential foundation in their lives, especially in carrying out their duties and responsibilities at PMU, emphasising that everyone’s different roles and responsibilities required sacrifice to achieve common goals.

To appreciate the sacrifices made for PMU’s successful achievements, exemplary monthly employees (APCB) for the month of April were recognised during the event.

Academics deputy director Iskandar Reduan, Academic Support deputy director Sophian Sout, and Mechanical Engineering Department head Mohd Ghafran Mohamed were also present at the gathering.
