Mukah Polytechnic student selected to represent Sarawak in Royal Yacht Programme

KUCHING: Munawwarah Ramlee, a 20-year-old student from Mukah Polytechnic (PMU), has been chosen to represent Sarawak in the prestigious Tunas Samudera Voyage 446/2023 Royal Yacht Programme (Youth Scheme).

The PMU issued a statement announcing Munawwarah’s selection. Hailing from Bintulu, she is currently in her fourth semester, studying Civil Engineering.

“Munawwarah was selected for her active involvement and valuable contributions as a member of the PMU Young Friends Secretariat (SRM) Supreme Council, where she consistently brings forth innovative ideas and energy for the club’s development.

“The Ministry of Youth and Sports recognised her dedication and appointed her as Sarawak’s representative for this programme,” according to the statement.

The Tunas Samudera Voyage will span 13 days, from June 6 to 18, taking place in Lumut, Perak, and Langkawi, Kedah.

During this voyage, participants will have the opportunity to learn alongside the Royal Malaysian Navy as they embark on a cruise from Lumut to Langkawi.

The programme aims to provide participants with knowledge in navigation, Navy duties, survival skills, leadership, and self-identity. Additionally, participants will gain insights into the tasks performed while serving on the ship.
