Mukah wushu team exceed expectations, win 26 gold medals at Penang Open

The Mukah wushu team won 26 gold, 19 silver and six bronze medals at the 2024 National-Level Penang Open Youth Wushu Championship recently.

MUKAH: The Mukah wushu team bagged 26 gold medals in the 2024 National-Level Penang Open Youth Wushu Championship, held in Penang recently.

In addition to the gold medals, the team also won 19 silver and six bronze medals.

According to Mukah Wushu Club chairman Ho Ing Siong, he did not expect his team to achieve this splendid success.

“This exceeded our expectations, but I am grateful because the training we have done all this while has paid off.

“With this success, I hope they can represent Mukah at the international level,” he said.

The participants were secondary and primary school students from SJKC Chong Boon, SJKC Ek Hua, SJKC Chin Hua Dalat, SK Mukah, SK Sungai Kut Tengah Dalat, SK Saint Bernard Dalat, SMK Saint Patrick and SMK Three Rivers.

Fildza Maisara from SMK Saint Patrick won gold medals in the chuji gunshu and daoshu events, as well as one silver medal.
