MUKAH: A new commercial hub called MukahCity in the heart of town is coming up.
The multi-million-ringgit project which is within the existing Mukah New Township is being developed by a Kuching-based property developer.
A check by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday found that part of the drainage system was constructed a few months ago.
A few houses within the area had been demolished to pave way for the project to commence. A number of houses have yet to be demolished before earth filling could begin.
Based on the signage at the site, the project involves the construction of 112 three-storey shophouses, and an 80-room three-storey hotel cum commercial complex.
The project, which has a land area of 11 acres, is located near a leading five-storey hotel and a soon-to-commence mixed development, Mukah Central.
MukahCity and Mukah Central projects are expected to be major landmarks in this fast-developing town, and they will help generate employment opportunities for locals as well as transient workers.
