LAWAS: A two-car collision involving a Toyota Innova and a Nissan Navara occurred at the intersection of Old Road Ba’kalalan and Jalan Merapok, Lawas on Saturday morning, leaving four injured.

An emergency call was received at 10:02 am, and a team of firefighters from the Lawas Fire Station was promptly dispatched to the scene.

According to Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operation centre, upon arrival they found three female passengers in the Toyota Innova were trapped in their seats, aged 65, 45 and the youngest being two years old.

Meanwhile, a 45-year old man who drove the Nissan Navara was also trapped in his seat.

Medical personnel from Lawas Hospital assist in the rescue effort.

The response team, including personnel from the Emergency and Trauma Unit at Lawas Hospital, worked swiftly to extricate the trapped victims.

Using a Spinal Board, they carefully freed the victims, who were then transported to Lawas Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.

In addition to rescuing the victims, the firefighters also undertook cleanup operations to remove debris and oil spills from the accident site.
