KUCHING: Sarawak Dayak Iban Association (Sadia) deputy president Munan Laja will not seek re-election during the association’s upcoming triennial delegate assembly (TDA). In a letter issued to the
association dated Aug 8, Munan, who is also Sarawak Workers Party (SWP) president, said he was stepping down from the post he has held for the past 12 years.
“I wish to give this opportunity to others who have interest and commitment to serve.
“With this announcement, Sadia can start to discuss and look for who should replace me for the post,” he added.
He also said he felt honoured to have served Sadia, especially in its fight for the Dayak Iban community.
“I want to thank everybody who have been with me during my tenure as deputy president and I wish Sadia all the best in years to come.”
Sadia has some 3,000 members todate.
