KUCHING: The latest instalment of the Museum Talks: Sarawak Snapshots series will feature the Punan community.

It will be held at the Borneo Cultures Museum Auditorium at 2pm on Sept 15.

Belaga-born Punan, Calvin Jemarang, will share his insights and unveil the rich heritage of the Punan people during the talk.

“The Punan people are often mentioned in passing, but few truly understand their complex history and vibrant traditions,”a statement said on Monday (Sept 9).

“This is an opportunity to hear directly from a member of the Punan community and gain a fresh perspective on their heritage.”

Calvin, one of the 12 co-founders of the Punan National Association, is passionate about documenting and preserving Punan history.

His book, “Punan Myths and Legends,” has sparked public interest and debate about the true identity and history of the Punan.

Calvin’s talk will trace the history of the Punan people from before 1600, 1600 to 1861 and from 1861 to 1946.
