Muslim community urged to understand integration of Al-Quran

KUCHING: The Muslim community has been advised to learn and understand the integration of the Al-Quran.

Satok assemblyman Datuk Ibrahim Baki explained that understanding the concept of Al-Quran would help in shaping the Muslim community in Sarawak to become better ummahs.

“With that quality and cooperation with one another, the state will flourish and further develop.

“For Sarawak, the Premier had always led Sarawak based on the Medina Charter. Hence, cooperation with each other is important.

“Furthermore, with today’s theme, ‘Manhaj Rabbani Ummah Berkualiti’, the quality of our ummah quality will be guided to the right path,” Ibrahim added.

The assemblyman was officiating at the closing ceremony of the ‘Ujian Tilawah Al-Quran dan Pertandingan Hafazan Peringkat Satok 2023’ at Surau Darul Qarrar, Kampung Temedak here, yesterday (Mar 5).

He commended the organisers of the programme in encouraging the younger generation in the Satok constituency to appreciate the Al-Quran.

“With this programme, we will also be able to discover talented ones to represent us in the constituency.

“The Premier wished during his tenure as the assemblyman here to continue programmes such as this every year,” he said.

Hamsawie Hassan and Nur Asmah Shamsulbahri, from Kampung No. 6, emerged as the winners of the qari and qariah categories respectively.

Both took home a cash prize of RM1,000, along with a trophy and a certificate of participation.

Meanwhile, for Category 1 Hafazan (7-12 years age group), Al-Awwal Azshaly came in first while Muhd Adli Muadzam from Category 2 Hafazan (aged 13-17) emerged as the winner.

In the same ceremony, two elderly participants Zaleha Hamid, 78, and Yahya Suhaili, 79, received a special gift from the organisers for being the oldest participants. Both took home gifts from Habib Jewels.
