KUALA LUMPUR: MyHSR Corporation Sdn Bhd (MyHSR Corp) is calling for a tender today to appoint the commercial advisory consultant (CAC) for the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail (KL-SG HSR) project review exercise.
Chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Nur Ismal Mohamed Kamal said the appointed consultant will be required to develop a new business model that will produce the optimal project life-cycle cost, as well as develop updated ridership forecasts and update the benefits assessment that the project will bring to Malaysia.
He said this tender was the second tender in relation to the KL-SG HSR project review exercise after the first tender to appoint the technical advisory consultant (TAC) was launched in April 2019.
“With the appointments of both the TAC and the CAC, a comprehensive project review exercise will be completed.
“A report will then be prepared and submitted to the government, prior to the end of the suspension period in May 2020,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Mohd Nur Ismal said the TAC tender had received encouraging interest and support from the market and was expected to be completed by Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Therefore, he said all firms with the relevant experience were encouraged to participate in the CAC tender as the findings of the review would help MyHSR Corp chart the right course for the project.
“We look forward to receiving similar strong support from the market for this tender,” he said.
Mohd Nur Ismal said further information regarding the CAC tender can be found on MyHSR Corp’s website at http://www.myhsr.com.my/tenders/kl-sg-hsr-project starting from today.
The governments of Malaysia and Singapore previously agreed to suspend the construction of the KL-SG HSR project on Sept 5, 2018 until May 31, 2020 to find the best way forward for the project. – Bernama
