KOTA SAMARAHAN: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has proposed five strategic actions to combat COVID-19 in Malaysia, including the reintroduction of the MySejahtera application.
The ministry also suggested deploying a data analysis team or collaborating with organisations equipped for pandemic data analysis. This measure aimed to facilitate early preventive actions and prepare healthcare facilities for potential new COVID-19 waves.
The MySejahtera app will utilise patient location, workplace, and demographic data to identify outbreak patterns, and the gathered data will be accessible to researchers.
New Sarawak Tribune spoke with several individuals about the MySejahtera app’s reintroduction.

In my opinion, the requirement to reuse MySejahtera can be controversial. Some may disagree due to privacy concerns or the challenges faced by specific demographics, such as those without smartphones or reliable internet access, even though it’s essential for contact tracing. It’s critical to balance individual rights with public health needs.

We should reuse MySejahtera. It can easily track individuals in areas affected by COVID-19 and identify those who test positive.

Yes, because it allows users to perform health self-assessments for themselves and their families. Through these assessments, users will be informed of their health status and receive guidelines for the next steps if they experience any COVID-19 symptoms. Users can also monitor their health progress throughout the COVID-19 outbreak using the MySejahtera app.
