MIRI: The mystery of a missing cat belonging to a resident of Taman Siang-Siang Garden here was solved with the capture of a python in the residential area by APM personnel, yesterday afternoon.

A man was aware of the python’s presence while he was walking outside his home. He had  seen the snake slithering in a flower bush.

Fearing for his family’s safety, the man contacted the Civil Defence Force (APM) to help capture the python.
APM Regional Officer, Captain Mohd Hazle Shah Abdul Hamid said three APM personnel were dispatched to the location after they received a distress call at 2.38pm.

“The three APM personnel who went to the location managed to capture the python about two metres long which had just eaten a cat belonging to the complainant,” he said in a statement here yesterday.

He added that APM personnel took about 10 minutes to capture the python.

“The operation ended at 3 pm and the snake was brought back to APM office for further action,” he said.
