KUCHING: MYTV Mana-Mana’s extensive content library is now accessible to Proton X70 owners directly through their Infotainment Head Unit (IHU)-enabled vehicles, leveraging Proton’s pre-installed internet connectivity.
According to a press release issued by MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd yesterday, the company unveiled its latest innovation: the integration of the MYTV Mana-Mana streaming application with Proton’s IHU at Proton DX in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday.
Launched by Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, this significant milestone marks a new era of seamless, on-the-go entertainment, made possible through a strategic collaboration with Acotech, the system provider for Proton IHU.
For the record, MYTV Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) reportedly achieved an impressive 7.5 million viewers in 2023, a 19.4 per cent increase from the previous year, underscoring the company’s commitment to bridging the digital divide.
“The MYTV Mana-Mana application, launched in July 2023, has rapidly gained traction, surpassing 500,000 downloads, 9 million cumulative views, and maintaining over 180,000 monthly active users in just over a year.
“Looking ahead, MYTV Mana-Mana plans to introduce premium channels and VOD content, further expanding its entertainment offerings for a diverse audience.
“The app will also debut on Smart TV platforms, enhancing home viewing experiences by bringing favourite content to the big screen,” it said.
Meanwhile, MYTV holding company, Altel Holdings acting group chief executive officer (CEO) Helmi Mohamed Harith said that in line with the latest technology, MYTV is committed to providing all Proton car owners with high-quality entertainment and information via the MYTV Mana-Mana app, starting with the X70 model.
“The integration of Proton’s IHU with MYTV Mana-Mana is a bold and visionary move, utilising the vehicle’s internet access to deliver a comfortable and high-quality viewing experience,” he said.
