KUCHING: A 47-year-old man will face a long jail term if convicted of peddling drugs after he was arrested on Monday at 5pm at a commercial centre at Jalan Datuk Amar Kalong Ningkan.
The suspect from Poh Kwong Park, Kuching was found at the stairs of a shop house with a transparent black box which contained six transparent small plastic packets, each holding crystalline lumps suspected to be syabu (gross 5.10g).
He was detained and will be charged under Section 39A (1) of ADB 1952. The suspect was also found to be positive for drug and will be charged under Section 15(1)(a)of the Dangerous drug Act 1952.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspect had been peddling drugs for the last three years.
