BINTULU: In its bid to foster ‘green’ practices and sustainable living, Naim Group of Companies, Sarawak’s leading property developer and a four-time winner of the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Environmental Award (CMEA) will join hands with Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation Malaysia (Tzu Chi) in organising a public programme known as ‘3Rs’ – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle at Naim Bintulu Paragon today (Saturday November 3) from 9am till 12 noon.

The half-day event is open to members of the public and it will feature a talk on the concept of 3Rs by Tzu Chi, an international humanitarian organisation and NGO focussing on various charitable causes.

The talk will feature creative ways in which ‘3R’ practices can be incorporated effectively in daily lives and participants will be shown some useful products made from recycled materials such as prosthetics for the less fortunate built from ring pull-tabs from aluminium drink cans.

Members of the public are also encouraged to drop off items which can be recycled such as plastic bottles, papers, aluminium cans and old shoes as well as clothes at the aforesaid venue.

Naim Bintulu’s Regional General Manager Abang Mahathir Mohamed said the programme demonstrates the Group’s commitment in driving the spirit of environmental conservation among the local communities.

“At Naim, we try our best to integrate environmental-friendly practices in our daily operations such as reduction in paper usage and electricity consumption. We have also participated in forest and wetlands conservation in collaboration with other organisations and even built a bridge from discarded tyres previously.

The future will either be ‘green’ or not at all, and every individual has a role to play in the conservation of our environment. So, come join us this Saturday and help make our planet ‘green’ again!”
