The concert, featuring Nading Rhapsody, Jerry Kamit and Zee Avi, is organised to help raise funds for those in need.

According to Naim’s Regional general manager for Bintulu Abang Mahathir Mohamed, music goers could anticipate the serenading tunes of the avant-garde Borneo ethnic music ensemble by Nading Rhapsody on Dec 22 at 8pm, while renowned sape player Jerry Kamit and singer-songwriter Zee Avi would be performing live on the next day at 7.30pm.

“Christmas will not be complete without songs and good music. We have always had great admiration and appreciation for local talents and it will be an honour to have these Sarawakian born artistes who have achieved so much in the international music industry, perform for us in aid of local charities.

“Other local bands such as PUAKA, The Craft and The Fentones will also be performing to ramp up the atmosphere before the benefit concerts,” he said.

He also invited members of the public to patronise the on-going Christmas Charity Bazaar at Naim Street Mall, which features 30 stalls offering a wide selection of Christmas-related goodies, handicrafts and delicious food, with parts of the proceeds going to charity. The bazaar will end this Sunday.

“Besides the bazaar, we hope that the Bintulu community will continue to support our “Giving Tree” campaign which is coming to an end this weekend as well. The campaign calls for the public to donate back-to-school supplies, books, clothes and gifts for children. These items can be dropped off at our sales gallery from 9am to 6pm during the campaign period,” he added.

“It’s the season of giving after all and for those who wish to donate blood and help replenish our blood bank, this is the best time!,” said Mahathir.
